Summer Scrabble League, Week 3 is a go!
Tonight…we scrabble…in HELL! Same deal as ever: 6:30 pm at Fat Cat Billiards, 75 Christopher St. Scrabble fact o’ the day: Scrabble purist/freak Donald Sauter has this website with a manifesto for Scrabble II — a revised version of the game with a whole host of changes, the most notable being a game dictionary that only allows words actual humans use. I’m going to grab a cupcake (or cookie, or just something with sugar) and head to Fat Cat a little early (6ish) to hold down the fort. Look for the terrible summer scrabble sign or ask the front door guy to show you the way. See you soon!

I only played swimming.
Because I haven’t been a part of team sports for a very long time, Summer Scrabble seemed like the most logical idea for those of us who like words, socializing, and adult beverages. So, here’s what I’m thinking: Time frame: 8 weeks long. Start the middle of June? Point system: Total points added up per player at the end of each week. If you miss a week you lose the points. ...
