I only played swimming.
Because I haven’t been a part of team sports for a very long time, Summer Scrabble seemed like the most logical idea for those of us who like words, socializing, and adult beverages. So, here’s what I’m thinking:
- Time frame: 8 weeks long. Start the middle of June?
- Point system: Total points added up per player at the end of each week. If you miss a week you lose the points.
- Playoffs: Everyone above a certain amount of points at the end of six weeks will move on to playoffs which will be the last two weeks.
- Rules: My trusty Scrabble dictionary.
- Place: This could take place outside pending appropriate weather or at a bar (Fat Cat?) where this kind of stuff happens on the regular or it can vary each week.
- Players: Open ended. If you come in mid-season, you gotta make up the points if you want to win. Otherwise, just come when you can and have fun.
- Prizes: Anyone good with endorsements?
